Melissa is a very smart and loyal dog. She has completed a basic obedience class and is currently enrolled in an intermediate class. She is a pro at "sit" and "down", "stand" and "leave it". She walks nicely on a leash and has been trained to walk on a treadmill. Melissa is both crate and potty trained.
Melissa does awesome with other dogs. She is playful with the younger dogs yet respectful of the older dogs in her foster home. She loves running around the yard with her foster siblings but is very respectful inside the house.
Melissa is laid back, low energy and reserved. Of course she has her goofy side, and her curious side, but she is perfectly content to lay at your feet or snuggle up on the couch. Melissa is cautious of new people, so she will need an adopter that is committed to training and patience. She warms up quickly but needs an adopter to provide her stability, routine and strong leadership. She would make an excellent guard companion.
