Holiday Rescues, Bitter Cold, Makes For Tough Times-Meet Sanders

This sweet and injured boy is Sanders. He was roaming around in N. City for several weeks in the cold. Every time he was spotted, he eluded being rescued not knowing if to trust man or not. Each time he appeared he was dirtier, matted and weaker and about to give up.

Finally, his day came to be saved, and on Christmas of all days! He was spotted by a wonderful person who just wanted him to be safe and warm. She called Randy and Stray Rescue was able to help. He went to the vet the next day where his mats were all shaved off. They were full of burrs, dirt and feces. Underneath one of them on his neck, he had a bite wound the size of a small orange. You could smell the infection from it. He is skinny, heartworm positive and healing from his wound. He is a happy boy and thankful that his Christmas wish came true- to be warm and safe! Adopt a stray today and save a life, which is our Christmas wish for Sanders, and his fellow 300 companion animals at Stray Rescue waiting for you.
