One of the oddest rescues to date, meet one of our newest rescues affectionately named Shapoopie.
Her story is a peculiar and a sad tale. She fell or was tossed into a sewage tank at the sewage plant. Her skin was on fire from the raw sewage and tar; I knew she was in pain. Treading in the sewage for hours exhausted her, her eyes were burning as well. My heart sank.
With our new Pine center finally open I was able to rush her to our vet clinic where she was bathed multiple times in Dawn, eyes flushed out with solution, IV fluids and antibiotics were given. Our new vet tech, Jennifer, helped come to her rescue this day. She never once growled or fought the extensive multiple baths. She knew she was being saved.
Shapoopie is now resting easy, has pain medications for her raw skin and FINALLY gave me a tail wag…I think she was saying thanks. This is one sweet dog who lived so she can experience a real home one day- is that home yours? Apply online!
