Donating to Stray Rescue Stray Rescue is committed to rescuing homeless animals as fast as our resources allow. Not only do we rescue off the city streets of St. Louis and East St. Louis, we take in many injured and abused dogs brought to the city pound by animal control officers. Unfortunately, at this time, the City of St. Louis is unable to provide funding for a veterinarian to be on staff at the city pound. Consequently, any dog brought in that is injured will lay untreated for 5 days before it can be legally euthanized. Because Stray Rescue is dedicated to ending the suffering of animals, we take these dogs into our loving arms. Most of the dogs we take in are malnourished, ill, injured or been abused, so you can imagine that our veterinarian expenses are quite high. We believe that if an animal has the courage to survive the mean streets, it deserves to be medically treated and live its remaining years in a loving home. The need is constant and expenses creep up every year. Please consider one of the many ways of donating to support our efforts to help the animals. A tax donation letter will sent in response to all gifts. (This letter will be sent to the address on your check.) Gifts from supporters like you will always be Stray Rescue's primary source of revenue. Thank you for caring. (Stray Rescue is not affiliated with any other humane organization nor does it benefit from any government revenue or the United Way.) Learn why your donation is going to a great cause. Memorials/Tributes Honor a loved one with a gift that will help save a dog. A memorial can be a heartwarming gesture for someone who has lost a loved one. A happy tribute in honor of a special birthday, anniversary or a marriage can be a meaningful and compassionate gift. The donor receives a tax donation letter, and the recipient of the tribute or memorial receives an acknowledgement letter. Download the tribute form as a Microsoft Word document or pdf document.
