| Iowa was found laying in the middle of the road. Cars were swerving to avoid her, but no one stopped to help her. Luckily we just happened to be driving by and pulled over. When we approached her she lifted her head and started wagging her tail. We're sure she said to herself "Finally I caught someone's attention". Although her little stunt worked, we don't recommend other dogs lay in the road in order to be noticed :) Iowa was taken to the vet to be examined. Other than suffering from heartworms she was in pretty good shape. Iowa has completed her heartworm treatment and is good as new. She is a very gentle soul with lots of love to give. She gets along very well with other dogs, especially her boyfriend Chuckles. And she doesn't seem to mind the cats at the vets office. She's a great girl on a leash and hasn't had any accidents in her apartment at the shelter. If you're looking for a love bug to snuggle with then Iowa is the girl for you.
