SPECIAL NEED in the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Zone
In Defense of Animal's Project Hope is a sanctuary located in Grenada Mississippi where Randy Grim and Stray Rescue volunteers have taken car loads of supplies and are bringing back orphaned pets to St. Louis.

Randy is reporting that there is a large number of displaced animals running loose in the disaster area that rescue groups are unable catch due to fear. It has been evident that a large number of these dogs and cats will need to be caught in humane traps. Project Hope is asking for people to donate these traps so these animals can be saved from starvation and to prevent colonies of feral dogs from developing in the months and years to come.

If you would like to donate a Havahart humane trap, sizes medium and large (size 48) or a catch pole, please contact ACES at 303-296-9287. Please ship to the following address:

Project Hope - IDA
Rt. 1 Box 128
Grenada, MS 38901
662-237-0233

These are the same traps that Randy uses (when necessary) to catch the feral dogs in the metropolitan St. Louis area. Project Hope needs a certain number of traps and will distribute the extras to other animal rescue groups in the disaster area.

Thank you so much for your support. See the update on September 9 to learn more about Stray Rescue's efforts to help the 4 legged hurricane victims.

Woof!
