  Mad Arf 2006

The dogs did it again! The artwork they created as well as inspired generated a huge crowd at our second annual Mad Arf Art Show hosted by the Mad Art Gallery in Soulard.

Nearly 40 local artists created a one of kind piece of artwork that was inspired by a Stray Rescue dog and their rescue story. These beautiful and unique masterpieces included all mediums such as photography, painting, collage, glass, sculpture, ceramic and metal. Popular pieces included the hand blown glass pitcher inspired by Pluto, the spectacular painting of Kat, woven hair from Phoenix and the majestic photos of Kia and Opie. Those dogs involved in the creation of a piece of artwork were invited to attend as well.

The artwork created by Stray Rescue dogs was very popular as well. Water color puppy pawprints and paint tipped tails created awesome works of art that created a bidding frenzy amongst the admirers. All pieces were beautifully framed by local retailers who donated their time and materials.

All works of art by both the 2 legged and 4 legged artists was auctioned off at the end of the evening. The proceeds from the artwork will be used to support our efforts to rescue and rehabilitate more homeless, street dogs.

In addition to the enjoying the wonderful works of art, patrons were treated to the delicious food donated by Red Moon Restaurant. Their professional staff kept busy the entire evening as people thoroughly enjoyed their very tasty and unique appetizers. Red Moon has been a wonderful supporter of Stray Rescue over the past year.

We are especially grateful to Ramona Rossman and Cindy Daly who organized this very successful event. Stray Rescue extends its heartfelt thanks to our sponsors who supported this effort: Nestle Purina, Carol House Furniture, 4 Muddy Paws and Barbara Strum.

We appreciate everyone who supported and attended this event and we look forward to seeing you next year!
