Stray Rescue volunteers urged patrons to drink for the dogs at the 25th annual Mardi Gras festivities in the historic Soulard neighborhood.

Stray Rescue received 30 percent of its sales from the event, organized by Bill Shelton, Terri and Jenn Foster. Profits could have been even greater had the porta potty been open to the public - and that's been discussed for next year!

Below are photos of the event, taken by Donna Lochmann.

More than 30 volunteers pushed hurricanes, beer and other beverages - and barked for tips - at the Hair O' the Dog Saloon set up on Lafayette Avenue near one entrance to Soulard. Business was brisk all day as revelers partied hard on the unseasonably warm first Saturday in February.
