A frantic call came into Stray Rescue about a dog that the security guard at Proctor and Gamble, off N. 2nd St., thought was dying. That word always sends our team out at high-speed to save a precious life.
Once there it did look like we might lose this one. She was lethargic and unresponsive and had no energy to even raise her frayed defeated head. She was an easy to rescue for she had no fight left.
Christened Marquita, her arrival at Stray Rescue’s trauma center was a welcomed relief for her. With temperatures near 100 degrees the cool floor and air-conditioning triggered life back into her eyes. Dr. Reis and her staff went into action. She suffers from heatstroke, mange, staph infection- abuse. She is healing great and on the road to recovery.
I am so proud of the Stray Rescue staff that came to her much needed rescue. She would have died. This is another reason to donate to the Stracks Fund. Your $5 donation helps us keep this trauma center going.
Marquita , your bad days are over! A special thanks to Jenn, Darrell, Dr. Reis and Jayme.
