Stray Rescue of St. Louis

Adoption Application

Stray Rescue of St. Louis has hundreds of dogs and cats looking for a loving forever home. The first step is to complete an adoption application!

NOTE: Completing an application does not guarantee adoption. There are some cases where the applicant could be turned down, or there could already be multiple applications on the specific companion animal.

FOR THOSE WHO RENT: Before we can proceed with your application, we MUST have landlord approval in writing to ensure animals are allowed on the premises. This approval must include any specific breed or size restrictions.

Adoption Process:

For dogs in the shelter: Fill out an application and then come by the shelter! 2320 Pine Street, St. Louis MO 63103. Don't wait for us to call you! We receive hundreds of applications every week.

For puppies or kittens: Fill out an online application and our Adoption Team will forward your application to the foster home. The foster will then be in touch within 72 hours to discuss the dog/puppy you're interested in.

*PLEASE NOTE: Puppies under 6 months are all in foster homes, not at the shelter. Puppies typically receive a lot of applications, and they are worked in the order they are received. The processing of your application could be held up if there is missing information (i.e. veterinarian or landlord information), so please make sure to answer question as thoroughly as possible.

Stray Rescue foster parents and volunteers take dogs to 8-10 adoption events each month. Check our event calendar to see when and where we’ll be holding our next adoption event.
