Help them run again!
Our trauma center is currently full of dogs who are suffering from severe leg injuries!
We believe every life is worth every effort, but we’re only able to give them this fighting chance because of you. You stand with us and put your trust in us by giving generously. Thank you for being our hero and helping us give every dog a chance to recover, to be adopted, and to be loved for the rest of their lives. Meet Vladimir-C, Havana Ooh Na Na, Second Chances SLP, Mrs. Turnbull, and Bridget. They are all currently in our trauma center for shattered limbs, deep wounds, and even leg amputation recovery.
Tiny little 15 lb Vladimir was found frantically running in a school parking lot, looking for someone to love him. He wasn't using one of his legs, and when it was x-rayed, we discovered it was broken. This little guy is expected to make a full recovery, and looks forward to finding his forever home.
Havana Ooh Nah Nah
Havana Ooh Nah Nah was found running down a North City Street with a pack of dogs. She was not using her rear leg at all. In fact, she was holding it up as she ran, and it dangled. After her x-rays, our vet team said this is one of the most badly broken legs they have seen. A specialty surgeon will need to come in next week to repair her leg. This will be an expensive surgery, but to us, every penny is worth it as this sweet girl deserves a pain-free life!
Second Chances SLP
Second Chances was rescued with a badly broken leg. To our astonishment, this little guy had been shot. His leg was so badly shattered from the bullets that his leg needed immediate amputation. Sadly, the x-rays revealed that the bullets were still lodged inside his little body.
Mrs. Turnbull was rescued on a snowy Saturday morning. She was sitting alone in the snow with nowhere to go. She had deep gash wounds on her hind legs. She was rushed to our trauma center where her leg was shaved, her wounds were cleaned, and drains were put in to help her heal. This sweet girl is healing wonderfully and is thankful for getting the help she desperately needed.
Bridget was laying in the middle of the street when we rescued her. She couldn't get up and needed to be carried to the rescue jeep. She had been hit by a car and had a broken pelvis, broken leg, and a torn anus. Our vet team had to amputate her leg, and she is recovering in the clinic. She is getting around GREAT on 3 legs and couldn't be happier!
Update on Bridget!
