Candy Heart arrived at Stray Rescue with her four babies on Valentine's Day (for her rescue story, click: https://www.strayrescue.org/candyheart). Whether a coincidence or not, she has proven to be a dog that all of us have fallen in love with fast and hard. Candy raised her puppies with gentle care and admirable patience while living at the shelter. During that time, she became a staff favorite and gave us daily cuddles. Now, in a foster home, she has stolen hearts again - she is the sweetest, most loving, and easy-going dog! Candy gets along with everyone - dogs, cats, and kids - and she loves to snuggle. She is low-key and likes to take long naps. She is learning how to play with other dogs and is easy to take for a walk, but, all things considered, she will choose snuggling with a human over playing or exploring any time. Like most stray dogs, Candy is, unfortunately, heartworm positive and will be undergoing treatment in the next few months. Stray Rescue will provide the treatment even after adoption - her new home just has to limit her activity during that time. But with a snuggle bug like Candy, this should be a piece of cake!
PLEASE NOTE THAT CANDY HEART IS IN A FOSTER HOME, NOT AT OUR SHELTER.
PLEASE CHECK STATUS BEFORE FILLING OUT AN APPLICATION TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NOT AN ADOPTION PENDING.
