Meet Danny, skin and bones

As the snow and sleet came down in sheets, a couple of Good Samaritans came running into our building with a dog in tow. As he came closer, we gasped. They found him running by himself, so emaciated that his joints had open wounds from not having any fat in his body. As we pet him, he pushed himself against our hand, eager to be touched. 

He is dangerously thin and malnourished, so will have to be fed several small meals throughout the day to avoid refeeding syndrome, which can be fatal. He's 4 years old and just 40 pounds. He should be double that weight. Slowly, we will get him there. In the meantime, we will love him and show him he is worth so much more.
