Houston, We have a problem
Cassady received a horrific call and we can't look away. There are 50 dogs who desperately need our help on a property a few hours from St. Louis. We are planning to head there *Thursday* morning to get them out of this hellish situation. Their owner died and we're told there are dead dogs all over, many of them are being eaten by other starving dogs. Many are pregnant as well. WE ARE BEGGING YOU TO STEP UP TO FOSTER! We will take all 50 if we can find 50 foster homes!! They all appear to be friendly with other dogs, many are little and some are big. Please watch the video and if you can help us, PLEASE FILL OUT THIS FORM and our team will contact you. We will post more details as soon as we have them:
The best way to help right now is to foster.
But we understand that many families are not able to foster due to landlord restrictions, a full house, a dog that doesn't want company, etc. You can still help by sending supplies from our wishlist or making a donation.
We're currently not sure if any are injured, but you know we will give them the help they need. All of them will also be spayed and neutered, and each one will receive vaccines.

UPDATE 2/11:
Where do I even begin? Over the years, Stray Rescue has been asked to help with some of the worst cases imaginable, but this one shook us all. I was planning to write an introduction to this video, but there are NO words that are impactful enough to tell their story. To express their pain, neglect, heartache, and sadness. This story needs to be told by them. This video is tough to watch, but this is their truth. Sometimes reality is hard to see, but their story needs to only be told by them. This was an absolutely heartbreaking rescue, but we all can sleep a little better knowing these babies are safe, and we will not give up until all are off that property. Thank you for always stepping up and supporting us and believing in us. We are able to continue these lifesaving missions daily, because of you. Everyone hug your babies a little harder tonight.
With more gratitude than we could ever express,
Cassady
The first 19 to make it home safely. Because we said "Houston, We have a problem," we thought it would be perfect to give them all space names. Please meet Astronaut, Little Dipper, Sally Ride, and more!

UPDATE 2/14:
Seven more saved and counting!
Although heading home with 19 heartbeats from the Houston, MO property should feel like a huge win, we felt sad because we could hear so many more dogs barking in the woods across the sprawling 12 acre property. It was frustrating to be there with our entire rescue team and never see them up close, but know they are there and need our help so badly.
Well, we have good news. We just came home with SEVEN more! Seven more lives saved and they are each as adorable as the first bunch. They all have stubby legs and although they are very scared and unsure what it means to live inside a house as a loved part of a family, they are all snuggling their warm blankets! Some like to hide in their crate while others are already snuggling on the couch with their foster family, but we will give them each the time they need to open up and become who they were always meant to be. We will just keep chipping away until we have them all safe.
We want to give a HUGE shoutout to our new friends Lee, Bre, and their network of kind-hearted people who live nearby and are able to continue setting traps every night as we are located two and a half hours away. It truly takes a village and we are so grateful you are in ours. After all, we are STRONGER TOGETHER!
UPDATE 3-22:
More babies have arrived from the Houston, MO property today, including one nursing mom and ANOTHER mom-to-be! To date, we have taken in more than FORTY lives from this property (not including all of the puppies that have been born in foster!) This would have been a never-ending, growing problem. Thank you again and always to Lee and Bre and friends, who have put in so much time as well as sounding the alarm and calling for help. You are truly heroes. If you can foster one of these shy but sweet pups, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.!
