Francis STT is a sweet and loving young girl who will make a great family dog. She is about 3 years old, fully grown, possibly a terrier mix. She came to Stray Rescue in January 2018 malnourished and mangy, but has since caught up on her weight and has grown a beautiful shiny coat. She is short-haired and weighs about 30-35 pounds. Since arriving at her foster home she has learned how to go up and down stairs and to go on leash walks. She is housebroken now as well.
Francis STT currently lives in a family with other dogs, cats, and an elementary school age child, and gets along well with every one. She is energetic and mischievous and likes to play, either by herself (with balls, sticks, nuts, acorns, etc) or with other dogs (and reluctant cats). But she also knows how to relax and loves to snuggle on the couch and in bed with her humans at night. Given her high energy level she has the potential to make a good jogging buddy but she is currently activity restricted and her foster family has not tested her for that.
Finally, Francis STT is heartworm positive and is currently undergoing appropriate treatment She needs to be activity-restricted through the end of her treatment (which will be completed through Stray Rescue, hopefully by the end of May).
PLEASE NOTE THAT FRANCIS STT IS IN A FOSTER HOME, NOT AT OUR SHELTER.
PLEASE CHECK STATUS BEFORE FILLING OUT AN APPLICATION TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NOT AN ADOPTION PENDING.
