Save Koga's Leg

June 22, 2020 | 3:01pm

Meet beautiful Koga, our newest family member. Koga is a 5-month-old German Shepherd with his whole life ahead of him. But he needs your help.

This sweet boy was hit by a car, leaving his back leg shattered in two places. Unfortunately, it may need to be amputated, but there is a chance his leg could be saved with surgery at a specialty vet. After reviewing his x-rays, the quote we received is $8,000 - $10,000. We could say "no" but specialists believe they can repair it. At Stray Rescue we give every animal every opportunity to heal because they deserve nothing less. He deserves the chance to keep his limb. And we never underestimate the will of these very special animals because we see miracles happen every day! He craves love and we can't wait to see him run again. We’re only able to help animals like Koga because you care. You are their hero, and you could be his! If we all chip in a couple of bucks, we could raise the needed funds overnight.

UPDATE: June 30, 2020

Koga is home!! ❤️
He actually had two major surgeries, thanks to your support, belief in our mission, and generosity: He had an FHO (femoral head ostectomy) in his hip and pins put in his femur of his rear leg, in addition to pins put in his front tibia. He was able to keep all 4 limbs and is expected to make a full recovery! In the meantime, plenty of cage rest, cuddles, and bandage changes to keep everything clean. Although he can’t thank you himself, please accept our thanks on his behalf. We will always do what is in the animal’s best interest. We are their voice and we can’t do ANY of this incredible work without you!
