They call me “Lilbit STT". I've traveled a long journey from a place called the US Virgin Islands. One would think, wow, what a paradise to live in. Well, my young life was not exactly paradise. At a mear 6 months old I found myself homeless and locked up in a shelter. No love for me? Am I not a good boy? Then, these amazing humans showed up and whisked me away to a foreign land. I was so confused, but they have showed me nothing but love since the day we met. They promised me a whole new life full of love, compassion, toys and treats. They've made good on their promise so far, so I've learned to trust these humans. I now have a warm, safe bed, food every day and a playmate. Is this a dream? Someone pinch me! I have a foster family now. While they are pretty awesome, what I would really love is a family of my own for the holidays. Are you them?
A little about me....they call me a "coconut retriever", because honestly I don't know who I came from, just from an exotic island. I weigh just under 30lbs currently. I am very loving and playful, but I am still learning to trust new humans that I meet. Once I warm up, I love to give kisses. I am an energetic and playful pup. I am still learning to respond appropriately to the "here", “no", “off” and "leave it" commands. I like to grab things to play with that may not be appropriate because these silly humans will chase me. They are funny! I am a fairly fast learner because I already figured out what they meant by "sit". When I listen, they like to give me yummy treats and get all excited when I get it right. I know what kennel means too. I sleep in mine all night without any accidents, but I'd much rather be snuggled up on the couch or bed with my human, especially on these chilly nights. I am great about doing my business outside when my humans pick up on my cues and I stick to a routine.
I love these smaller humans (currently living with a 14mo old, 5yr old and 10yr old) who love to play with me. They are fun to chase. My foster mom and dad think I would do well with another 4-legged sibling, or on my own. I do like to play puppy games, especially tug, and I am learning to play fetch. Balls are fun to chase!
If you are interested in getting to know me, submit an application so my foster family can schedule a meet and greet and home visit. I will be ready for my Fur-ever home just after Thanksgiving!!
PLEASE NOTE THAT LILBIT STT IS IN A FOSTER HOME, NOT AT OUR SHELTER.
PLEASE CHECK STATUS BEFORE FILLING OUT AN APPLICATION TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NOT AN ADOPTION PENDING.
