I am Not Trash - My Name is Alex

If you follow Stray Rescue, you already know we rescue abused, dying dogs people have thrown out like garbage. Remember names like Tasha, Leben, and Bo Rocket? Sadly, we have a new name to add to this list. This tiny senior dog, estimated to be about 14 years old, was found in a dumpster last night. His name is Alex. This behavior is beyond comprehension. What kind of society are we choosing to be?

Alex was thrown away in a dumpster near a church on Thursday, October 25th, He was terribly matted and had to have a full body shave as soon as he was brought in. He has skin disease, hair loss, tumors, and arthritis.

Did he just get too old and too frail to be loved? Or maybe he needed medical care, or started to potty in the house? Whatever the case, this little soul was seen as a possession and no longer deserved dignity. The most heartbreaking part is the sweet, kind nature of this poor pup, who looks at us with hope in his eyes.

Alex’s life matters. He isn’t garbage. He is a sweet, kind, innocent soul who was left to be picked up with trash. Believe us when we tell you Alex will never suffer again.

We need donations to help Alex and other dogs suffering at the hands of careless, heartless people, so please give. Any and every amount helps our mission.
