Sliced open with fencing wire, Meet Picket
November 6, 2023 | 11:35amSliced open by fencing wire, Meet Picket
This is Picket. Her front leg was actually cut wide open by wire fencing.
We are going to do everything we can to save her leg. Thank you to her driver/transporter for getting her here safely and swiftly. Many Vet offices and rescues in rural areas are small and don't have the resources they need to save these beautiful animals. They fight an uphill battle daily and network as best as they can to get these deserving creatures help, just like this very sweet girl. ♥
We can tell just by looking at her that she's had a lot of babies in her past (don't worry, there is no milk so she does not currently have any puppies). She's dirty, thin, in pain, and completely exhausted. And to make matters even worse, she's suffering from heart worm disease.
Well you are safe now, sweet baby. We love her brown speckles and golden eyes. Better days are coming, we promise.
Whether they are from the city or from a rural area like where Picket came from, these are the animals who need us the most. Near or far, they are the animals who wouldn't have a chance anywhere other than Stray Rescue. You make it possible for us to keep our promise to them to do everything we can to save their lives.
