We were contacted by someone in a rural area, hours away. They heard we are the shelter that will help an injured dog no matter what. We will give them the chance they deserve and see if they can live a good life. And if there is a chance, then we will give it to them, no matter the cost.
Meet Remo. He needs us all.
He was shot in back left leg over two weeks ago. The bullet fractured his bone to the point the bone was exposed.
We are told the owners mentioned he had also been struck with a bow and arrow and hit by two cars over the year they have had him.
That left us speechless. There are no words.
.
.
A Good Samaritan loaded him in their car and just started driving. He will never go back to that life.
They drove to St. Louis and when he first arrived on our doorstep, he looked so happy and grateful. But he quickly crashed and his heartrate dropped to 30 beats per minute which is extremeley low. He couldn't even lift his head.
But we told him he did not come all the way here to give up now.
Because the gunshot is over two weeks old, he is septic. He is only a year or two old and has a long, beautiful life ahead of him. And those eyes!
Remo needs an emergency leg amputation, but because he is in critical condition he may not make it through. But this is his only chance. He is now at a specialty clinic where he will get the surgery and around the clock care. He's going to get the best care there is.
We are asking everyone to pray for this baby boy. He needs to feel your heartfelt love to lift him up. Send all of your prayers and positive vibes to Remo. We are holding out hope he can make it through this. Please chip in if you can, his medical bills are going to be expensive. Come on Remo, you can do this!
