Rescue Stories
The ONE LOVE ClubAt Stray Rescue, we treat every animal as the unique, precious individual they are. Throughout their healing journey – from the minute they come through our doors until they walk out with their new family – we know that there’s no “one size fits all” plan. During the adoption process, we take into consideration the needs and personality of every individual animal, and sometimes that means they want to be your one and only love! This week we will introduce you to …
A call came in that a dog who needed help was in this house. We scoured every inch until we found her in the last little spot we looked...and then we had to get her out. This adorable baby is safe now!
We are so grateful to be moving out of such a brutal and tragic winter. The frigid temperatures didn't deter us, though, as we were out on the streets every day saving as many lives as we possibly could. Our hearts broke when we found Heaven and her Baby Angel - abandoned and frozen to death in a doghouse - and we mourned the life they could have had. Sadly all we could do at that point was show them respect, so we brought them…

Kursty

Watching this boy walk hurts! His leg was badly broken a while ago and he was never treated. His family moved away and left him behind, and we're told this is the SECOND time he's been abandoned! He joined our Stray Rescue family and we can't wait to help him become pain-free! Kiarra has already fallen madly in love with him and gave him the Stray Rescue welcome. We named him Kurtsy. All he wants is affection. We thought you would want to see Kurtsy’s…
WOW, our newest arrival is a hard one to look at. This kitty's foot has somehow been ripped off and his bones and muscle are exposed. He just got here about ten minutes ago and we absolutely cannot BELIEVE how sweet and grateful he is! What a tough little guy! Our veterinarians are also taking a look at his injury but don't believe it to be fresh, so he may have been living this way for awhile. Can you imagine? He's scarfing down some food…

This poor baby just arrived! She is a mess. Her ears are huge, swollen and infected, pus is coming out of an open wound on top of her head, she has a "cherry eye" in both eyes which is is causing a lot of irritation and inflammation. We can tell by her body she's had litter after litter after litter. We named this BEAUTIFUL girl Jolene. We gave her a little bit of baby talk and she just went wild. Has anyone ever told you…
The phone rings at Stray Rescue, and a kind woman named Sheila is on the other end. She had just seen a dog dart into an abandoned house, and she looks like she has a horrible wound on her neck and needs help. Our rescue dispatch team sends Donna who heads out and spots the dog right away. But she’s been let down by humans before and is so scared, so she runs off and keeps her distance. Although she won't come close, she keeps…
This girl was hanging around someone's house for a few days and eventually made it into her backyard. That's when her injury was noticed and we were called - she was also described as very skinny. We found her and wow - She has an embedded chain in her neck, but it looks like an old wound as her skin has grown over it in several places. Heading to our trauma center, this is Tallie. You're safe now, we will help you. We're not wasting…
