In a dangerous, impoverished area of North St. Louis, the Stray Rescue team responded to yet another awful dogfighting and abuse case, but this time we were not alone. Animal House, city animal control officers, and the police responded to Stray Rescue's call for assistance in a positive and inspiring collaborative animal rescue.
No, Etta isn't very, very pregnant. This poor girl is suffering from severe heartworms and congestive heart failure and, as a result, is retaining a huge amount of fluid. Needless to say, Etta's appearance was incredibly startling when Donna arrived at the scene to rescue her. Etta is currently undergoing treatment, so please say a prayer for her and think good thoughts. Updates on Etta's recovery will be given as they become available.
After suffering from neglect and nearly succumbing to dehydration, starvation, and exposure, Pearson continues to astonish everyone with his amazing recovery. Thanks to all those who sent good thoughts and donated to The Stracks Fund, Pearson's face is now filled with hope and love!
This poor stray, now named Pearson, was found after Stray Rescue received a call from a park maintenance worker. Upon arrival, we thought the worst. Pearson had obviously suffered through a very harsh Winter, and we thought he had succumbed to extreme malnourishment and neglect, curled up, and died.
