Thank you for visiting the Stray Rescue website! This page is intended to answer some of Stray Rescue's most frequently asked questions and refer visitors to St. Louis-area resources.
Stray Rescue typically operates within the city limits of St. Louis giving priority to the most urgent cases. We are unable to accept owner surrenders, drop-offs, or cases outside the city limits. In St. Louis County please contact St. Louis County Animal Care and Control.

If you have found a dog, please follow these steps:
- Keep him/her safe as you would want someone to do with your own pet
- Check for a collar/tag/contact information
- Take them to the nearest animal shelter, Petco/PetSmart, or veterinarian to have them scanned for a microchip
- Post them on the STL Lost Pets Facebook Page. Make sure your settings for the post are public. Check the page to make sure no one has posted the pet as missing
If you have found an animal with a collar, believe it may have an owner, or you can see it has been altered, consider using these free online resources to connect the animal with its possible owner:
