Helping Songaa and his friends
August 5, 2022 | 12:33pmWe will tell the story the best we can, but with social media (which can be both a blessing and a curse), there are a lot of versions of the story going around. So, without getting into muddy waters, here is what are going to share:
We were tagged in and sent a post that was going viral of a husky chained up in what looked like woods or thick brush, with horrible injuries. We couldn’t count how many times it was sent to us. Immediately, we began looking into the situation, but again, hearing so many different versions it seemed it was getting convoluted. We were even told the dog had been euthanized and not to worry about it any longer.
But he was found dumped at a lake when a Good Samaritan(s) found him. They called the local police. We were contacted again, but this time with news that they needed a rescue. Without hesitation, Donna & Cassady hopped in the car, drank some caffeine, and went to get him late last night.
Three other dogs who lived in the home, in addition to the horribly injured husky, are all here now - safe and together at Stray Rescue. They will get the love and care they need and we will be looking for new homes for them soon, where they will be loved, adored, and respected as all souls should.
We’re sorry we can’t name names or organizations that helped because we will undoubtedly leave someone very important out. So please accept our gratitude, our undying thanks, and for being a part of the army that does not turn their backs on animals in need. We will continue to update you on his healing journey, as he is all of our dog now! He’s as much yours as he is ours. Thank you for understanding and for your grace! We are all in this together!
