When you can't break the chains...

March 16, 2021 | 9:20am

This girl was hanging around someone's house for a few days and eventually made it into her backyard. That's when her injury was noticed and we were called - she was also described as very skinny. We found her and wow - She has an embedded chain in her neck, but it looks like an old wound as her skin has grown over it in several places. Heading to our trauma center, this is Tallie. You're safe now, we will help you.

We're not wasting any time. We couldn't cut off Tallie's chain, it is embedded in her neck. She's sedated and in surgery. Our amazing surgeon actually had to cut around the chain as it was embedded so deep and in multiple places.

Tallie is resting after her surgery. This poor dog is the sweetest thing and has been through a lot. The good news is, we were able to make a clean cut so it should heal well. But she should NEVER have to go through this in the first place. Poor, sweet baby.
