Post Adoption Training

Adding a dog to your family is a lot of fun, but it can be a lot of work and sometimes even challenging. We are here to help you! You are always welcome to reach out to our training team for advice. There are many different methods, styles, and techniques, but we strongly recommend Certified Positive Reinforcement Trainers. Avoid methods that use choke collars, shock collars, etc.

We offer one-on-one private lessons, free puppy socialization classes, free "teenage" dog socialization classes, and free pack walks! Learn more below.

Stray Rescue of St. Louis

Meet out front of our shelter and don't be late!

SATURDAYS

Puppy Class

10:30am - 11:15am 10 weeks to 6 months of age, must have a minimum of two rounds of booster shots. Come play with other puppies, learn to rough house, and have fun! - to sign up: Training@strayrescue.org

"Teenager" Class

11:30am - 12:15pm 6 months to one year of age, MUST show proof of current vaccine records. Play with other dogs, take cues from one another, and have fun! - to sign up: Training@strayrescue.org

SUNDAYS

PACK WALKS - Every Sunday at 9am!

We offer pack walks if you would like to socialize your dog and walk with other pups! Meet out front of our shelter. You do not need to RSVP, just show up! Don't be late, the group walks different routes each time and please take direction of our trainers.

The pack walks are moved to 9am in the hot summer, and at noon in the winters. Keep an eye on this page for any time changes, and we will post on our Facebook page.
