Wishbone, starved & saved on Thanksgiving, fights for his life

How he has found the strength to walk, we do not know. But we just rescued this dog, nothing but skin and bones. It is a miracle we find you today, on Thanksgiving. We are here 365 days a year. We named him Wishbone and are heading to the shelter now. Updates to come.
Yesterday, we rescued one of the skinniest dogs we’ve ever seen. We didn’t know how he had the strength to continue, but street dogs are strong and full of adrenaline as they must dig deep within themselves to survive. Last night Wishbone felt safe for the first time in a long time and his health sharply declined. He is weak, he cannot lift his head, and he won’t eat. When a dog this skinny won’t eat we know there is something terribly wrong. After x-rays, we discovered either a large tumor or a blockage in his abdomen. Wishbone needs emergency surgery TODAY. We want to warn everyone there is a big chance that he will not wake up from surgery. Please send our clinic team all the positive vibes in the universe! We will keep you updated.

There is a lot of dead tissue that doesn't look good, but now that the towel is removed, he does have a chance. In this video, our amazing surgical team removes the towel from his intestines.
