You did it again...

You did it again...

This has been another lifesaving and miracle-making year. We have had our ups and downs, but you helped us every step of the way. We couldn’t do what we do each day without the overwhelming support of our community. You helped every time we called. You, our loyal supporters, once again stepped up in our time of need and heard our emergency plea for the Stracks medical fund. Here are highlights of just some of the miracles YOU made possible this year: This sweet angel is Delores. She came to us unable to stand, and she barely even registered a temperature. We rushed her to our onsite emergency vet clinic to wrap her in warm blankets and start fluids. After a few weeks we were able to stabilize her, and she started gaining much needed weight. Delores went home with Donna so that she could continue comfortably on her path to recovery. Delores is now adopted and living the life she deserves!

Superman was rescued on the North Side of Saint Louis. When he was rescued, we were uncertain of his fate. Having been struck by a car and unable to move his back legs, we were sure his back was broken. We watched him lay there terrified as fleas walked across this poor soul’s eyes. After administering IV’s and pain medication, we were able to stabilize him enough to take x-rays. To our happy and very grateful amazement, we were relieved to discover his back wasn’t broken after all! After a couple of months in the clinic and with plenty of bed rest, he was finally able to go home. Our Vet Tech, Jordyn, had fallen in love with him while he was in the clinic and decided to make him part of her family!

Stephanie King and her puppies were found under the floor boards of an abandoned house in East Saint Louis. We could hear the cries from the puppies and quickly got them out to the safety of the Jeep. Mama, on the other hand, proved to be a little tricky. But several Vienna Sausages later, she finally went in the trap! She and her puppies were immediately reunited, and all have since found loving homes.

We got a call about a dog that was trapped in the fast lane on the highway. By the time we got there, Sovar had run across the highway and had been hit. Her pupils were unresponsive, so she was immediately rushed to Veterinary Specialty Services - a partner emergency vet hospital. She had sustained the force of the trauma to her head, and VSS warned us she probably wouldn’t recover. However, as we have seen time and time again, Sovar’s will to live was strong. After a lengthy recovery, she is doing well and living her new amazing life.

At Stray Rescue, we’re well known for giving every animal a fighting chance. Every year we see miracles unfold and witness the incredible strength, resiliency, and trust these amazing animals place in us. Somehow they know that we are there to help them, and we go to great lengths to give them every chance at a life filled with comfort, health, love and family. But we can’t do any of this without YOU. You are the reason all of these miracles are possible. When you donate to Stray Rescue, you are making a clear statement to these animals that you believe in them and that their lives are worth it. You’re investing in them. Please donate today and make sure they continue to hear you. Let’s make even more miracles happen! Thank you for being our heroes and for your continued support of Stray Rescue.

Please help us continue our life saving work by making your year end tax deductible gift.
